FiberPlus will be having demonstrations on:

Public Safety DAS

What is Public Safety DAS/First Responder?

In 2009, IFC 510 was enacted, which updated the fire code with suggested jurisdictional guidelines for emergency responder radio coverage. These are a few of the important IFC 510 guidelines:

  • 95% of all areas on each floor of the building must meet radio signal strength requirements.
  • Any new buildings must have approved emergency responder radio coverage throughout the building.
  • If the existing wired system is not able to be repaired or is being replaced, then all buildings are required to retrofit the building with radio coverage or enact a timeline for the retrofit as identified by the jurisdiction.

Biometric Access Control

What is Biometric Access Control?

Access control is a means of authorizing personnel to enter a secure facility or gain access to a restricted object. Biometric access control analyzes biological data to allow authorized individuals access to a secure facility or object. This includes measuring several different types of human characteristics, such as fingerprints, eye retinas and irises, facial shapes, vocal patterns, and hand measurements.

Since it is virtually impossible to fake a biological imprint, biometric access control proves to be very effective at maintaining security within professional facilities.

Facial Recognition

What is Facial Recognition?

Facial recognition is a facet of biometric access control. This method of access control involves identifying a person by comparing a live capture or digital image data with a stored record of image data for that individual. Facial recognition systems are most often used for security purposes, but they are increasingly being implemented in a variety of other applications.
