Position summary: The warehouse assistant performs a number of duties aimed at ensuring that the operations of the warehouse are run smoothly on a daily basis.

Position responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1) Taking care of shipping and receiving; 2) Sort, organize, and store inventory in proper location; 3) Package items and label correctly; 4) Pulling and stocking inventory as needed; 3) Maintaining the warehouse in a safe, clean and organized fashion, on a daily basis; 4) Checking in materials, inspecting for damages, unpacking and repacking; 5) Administrative duties such as signing out tools and testers, as needed and signing them back in; 6) Checking tools for functionality and that all parts are accounted for when returned; 7) Update logs and documentation for inventory processing; 8) Ensure space is free of debris and remove safety hazards from aisles; 9) Prepare documentation and inventory for audits; 10) Other duties as assigned.

Essential skills and experience: Minimum of 6 months of experience in warehouse environment. Telecommunications industry or another technical/mechanical field a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with MS Office Suite to include basic Word, Excel and Outlook. Able to work independently. Pays attention to detail and monitors quality of inventory. Highly organized and able to store items efficiently.

Must be able to pass a background check. A clean driving record is required and candidate must provide a valid driver’s license upon offer of employment. Drug screening is required. U.S. citizenship may also be required.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing duties of the job, the warehouse assistant will frequently be required to stand; walk; sit; bend; stoop; kneel; climb; pull; push; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. They will also frequently be required to lift a minimum of 75 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment usually moderate but can become heavy or high depending on the equipment being used at the particular work site.
