Position summary: The DAS Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of services on one or more specific projects. Oversees and coordinates the installation and optimization of Distributive Antenna Systems (DAS) for clients to expand coverage within private or public venues and other major facilities.  The Project Manager is expected to organize the project resources, coordinate project activities, manage the budget, and submit timely and complete project status and other project deliverables.

Position responsibilities: The responsibilities of the DAS Project Manager include, but are not limited to:

  1. Manage and provide installation strategy for primarily small to moderate complex projects
  2. Manage project(s) to budget and resolve conflicts as necessary for project completion
  3. Execute the construction and installation tasks and resources associated with the development of wireless networks
  4. Plan resources, track and report progress
  5. Identify and mitigate risk
  6. Ensure that design and quality standards are met
  7. Ensure a safe working environment
  8. Analyze project plans and schedules to identify opportunities for improvement
  9. Develop solutions that meet business requirements and solve client issues
  10. Develops installation guidelines and observe industry best practices on DAS component and system installation
  11. Determine the most cost effective solution per project
  12. Understand and execute project designs and plans
  13. Review and verify BOM for each project
  14. Project management and development of execution plans for construction installation and commissioning to meet profit objectives, quality standards and completion dates
  15. Perform DAS customer pre-sale or pre-construction site walks; interface with customer and end user
  16. Review or develop method of procedure (MOP) with customer prior to start of project
  17. Update and document accurate (as built) information
  18. Assign resources based on level of effort (LOE) required from site walk/SOW/BOM data
  19. Understanding of LOE issues/challenges in complex installations
  20. Understanding of the head-end build out; fiber and coax installation practices and requirements
  21. Troubleshoot and resolve pathway and support issues
  22. Manage the commissioning and integration process
  23. Understand and comply with local building codes and requirements
  24. Ability to lead and manage multiple installation crews /trade crews and outside projects
  25. Ability to conduct safety meeting and enforce safety requirements on site
  26. Work as a liaison between customers, vendors, subcontractors and all in house organizations
  27. Perform the primary role of a single point of contact for the project team during all project phase requirements

Essential skills and experience:

3+ years managing wireless telecom projects

3+ years project management experience within building wireless systems

DAS installation commissioning and troubleshooting preferred

Knowledge of wireless technology such as CDMA/EVDO, GSM/UMTS, LTE, WIMAX and public safety

Knowledge of in building construction methods for antennas, cables, and conduits

Hands on DAS installation experience

Small cell project experience

Telco basic construction

Technical background that can enable him/her to be the technical SME on new DAS equipment features or functionality

Ability and experience developing, managing and implementing project schedules for assigned projects

Basic understanding of overall wireless telecommunications

Ability to communicate clear directions to subcontractors

Ability to read and understand Scopes of Work and communicate scope to subcontractor and project team

Must be willing travel

Ideal candidate with have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within wireless/DAS applications and the ability to mentor and lead team on best practice solutions

A successful candidate will be motivated, experienced and someone who thrives in fast-paced environment

Must be able to pass a background check and/or the ability to get a government issued clearance. A clean driving record is required and candidate must provide a DMV record upon offer of employment.  Drug screening is also required.

Education/Training: 3+ years project management experience within building wireless systems. RCDD is desired, but not required. OEM certifications from Corning Mobile Access, TE, CommScope, Solid Technologies is preferred. Certificates desired: PIM testing, Coax sweep testing, OTDR fiber certification.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the DAS Project Manager is frequently required to sit; talk; hear; and use hands, arms, and fingers to type. The DAS Project Manager is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel, finger, or grasp objects or tools; crouch, crawl, and kneel; and reach with hands and arms.  The DAS Project Manager may occasionally be expected to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, ability to adjust focus, and the ability to focus on a CRT or LCD computer monitor for lengthy periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.
