Position summary:  The Project Manager has 5-10 years installing security systems devices, access control systems and devices and CCTV systems and ensures the overall success and profitability of the project.  Must have vast experience in multiple Access Control, CCTV and Burglar Alarm Systems small and large scale installations.  The candidate will be a team leader, understand time line management and overall budget control.  Candidate must be an expert troubleshooter.  The Project Manager is expected to organize the project resources, coordinate project activities, manage the budget, and submit timely and complete project status and other project deliverables to meet or exceed budget objectives.  Partners with customers to establish project plans and drives project execution to completion, ensuring the overall success of assigned project(s).


Position responsibilities: The responsibilities of the Project Manager include, but are not limited to: 1) Verifies that proposed jobs have been developed and scheduled. 2) Performs walk throughs with Estimators, Operations and Sales to ensure all aspects of the job are sighted; 3)  Ensures parts have been ordered and materials are received prior to start dates 4)Develops a plan of completion and utilizes the timeline management process to bring jobs from start to sign off in accordance with all NFPA standards and NEC codes meeting scope, cost and time constraints; 5) Able to train personnel in the knowledge of networking addressing schemes and network integration, IP cameras, IP access control, and computers, PTZ camera installation and programming and addressing of devices ; 6)  Must have the ability to recognize and provide immediate solutions for onsite changes in system integrations in the construction of buildings from start to closure;7)  Must have the ability to recognize and provide immediate solutions for onsite changes in system integrations in the construction of buildings from start to closure;  8) Must have understanding of the construction process, scope of work, time line management, utilizing work packages and budget tracking; 9) Define or clarify any technical issues with the Crew; 10)  Prepares estimates as needed and assists with project development and proposals; 11)  Ensures proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures are utilized.  Must be able to send test to the signal-receiving center and properly establish service.  Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required; 12) Motivates, manages, and leads crew when necessary and coordinates subcontractors; 13)  Conducts/attends weekly meetings, weekly work site walk throughs, record meeting minutes and distribute minutes and crew meetings as necessary; 14) Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls; 15) Performs other duties as assigned; 16) Adheres to all applicable safety/security procedures and OSHA requirements; 17) Inform and update Senior Management; 18) Provide necessary administrative support for all documentation required; 19) Develop any matrix needed to track project completion, goals, performance and progress.


Essential skills and experience:


5-10 years experience in Field, supporting large scale installations, strong mechanical ability, and strong knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Project Management. Ability to use multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power tools, crimp sets, and tap and die sets.  The position may require flexible, long hours and travel, including to customer job sites.  The Project Manager may be required to adapt their work schedule in order to meet deadlines and project requirements.


Candidate must be able to read blue prints and schematic drawings. Experience with some Auto Cad, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, MCSE or MCSA a plus.  Candidate must have the ability to operate hand and power tools and should have his own tools as an installer.  Candidate must have the ability to operate fleet vehicle in safe manner at all times.  Must have strong supervisory, organizational and communication skills and provide excellent customer service.


Must be able to pass a background check and/or have the ability to get a government issued clearance. A valid driver’s license is required and candidate must provide a DMV record.  Drug screening is required.  U.S. citizenship may also be required.  Ability to obtain and maintain registration with Maryland State Police and Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services as a Project Manager is required.  Current registration with Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services is a plus.


Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Some technical school training desired. DCJS a plus.  Certifications in AMAG, Hirsch, Pelco, Panasonic, Onssi, Genetec, Verint, or any others a plus.




Physical Demands and Work Environment:  While performing duties of the job, the Project Manager will frequently be required to stand; walk; sit; bend; stoop; kneel; climb; pull; push; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.  The Project Manager will also frequently be required to lift a minimum of 75 pounds or more.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.  The noise level in the work environment usually moderate, but can become heavy or high depending on the equipment being used at the particular work site.
