Position summary: The Manager of Sales & Marketing will oversee the sales and marketing functions for the company. This position will drive the company’s customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. This position will develop key growth strategies, tactics and action plans when executed will enable the company to meet its annual revenue targets, build relationships and increase an understanding of customer trends. This position will be involved in developing and implementing strategies to strengthen the company’s market presence and help it to find a “voice” this will make a difference.
Position responsibilities: The responsibilities of the Manager of Sales & Marketing include, but are not limited to: 1) Meeting the Company sales goals; 2) Creates strong relationships with customers and vendors; 3) Develops and motivates sales employees to enhance and grow Company revenues and to achieve sales quotas; 3) Tracks each employee’s activities and effectiveness and offers feedback, guidance, discipline and counseling, as appropriate; 4) Supervises and manages the overall job performance of assigned staff by training, counseling, planning, monitoring and appraising job results; 5) Recruits, interviews, selects, orients, and trains employees, to achieve goals and objectives established by the President; 5) Communicates company policy, procedures and guidelines and ensures that employees understand and follow; 6) Adjusts the Company’s sales focus according to market and technology trends and also must manage and ensure sales persons meet assigned monthly, quarterly and yearly sales quotas; 7) Develops budget and staffing plans for the Sales Department and coordinates with the President for approval; 8) Attends meetings and provides timely Department reporting as directed; 9) Tracks competition and adjusts sales efforts to maintain competitiveness; 10) Establishes and maintains a Company marketing strategy in accordance with FiberPlus, Inc. Company goals and objectives; 11) Enhances the Company name and image through advertising, social media, and customer service follow up; 12) The position supports all offices in the areas of Sales and Marketing; 13) Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Essential skills and experience: Minimum of 10 years Sales management experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience directly managing a staff of sales and administrative employees. Management experience in a cabling infrastructure or related sales environment is preferred, along with a solid technical background and the ability to manage sales employees responsible for promoting technical services/products. Good interpersonal, customer service skills, negotiation, market knowledge, leadership, and organizational skills are essential. Position also requires a fluency in creative composition. A pro-active, positive and self motivated attitude with the ability to multi-task and work independently or with teams is essential. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively is essential. Computer skills including MS Word and Excel are preferred. Position requires flexible, often long hours and travel, including to customer job sites.
Must be able to pass a background check and/or the ability to get a government issued clearance. A clean driving record is required and candidate must provide a DMV record upon offer of employment. Drug screening is also required.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communication or Business Administration (MBA preferred).
Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the Manager of Sales & Marketing is frequently required to sit; talk; hear; and use hands, arms, and fingers to type. The Manager is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel, finger, or grasp objects or tools; crouch, crawl, and kneel; and reach with hands and arms. The Manager may occasionally be expected to lift and/or move 15 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, ability to adjust focus, and the ability to focus on a CRT or LCD computer monitor for lengthy periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.
