Position:              Technician I

FiberPlus, Inc. is currently seeking enthusiastic candidates to fill a Technician I position. 

 

Position summary:          The successful candidate will be dependable with a strong desire to learn. 

 

Position responsibilities: 

 

Technicians level I are responsible for assisting the Crew Leader and Technician II on the successful completion of assigned projects. They are responsible for assisting Technicians level II with maintenance and care of the van and job inventories.

Technicians level I are responsible for learning to effectively utilize their work scheduling to maximize crew efficiency.   A Technician I should learn the many of the facets involved with the most current installation procedures.  A Technician I should also be able to add efficiency and speed to his work habits.

 

Essential skills and experience:

 

Candidates must be able to understand both verbal and written instruction.  Candidates should be familiar with and be able to use both hand and power tools to accomplish assigned tasks.

 

Education:          High School Diploma or Equivalent

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

 

While performing duties of the job, Technicians I will frequently be required to stand; walk; sit; bend; stoop; kneel; climb; pull; push; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.  They will also frequently be required to lift a minimum of 30 pounds or more.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

 

The noise level in the work environment usually moderate, but can become heavy or high depending on the equipment being used at the particular work site.
